About
Psychology as a practice of attention.
A longer read about what I’m studying, where I’ve shown up, and what I want to do next.
I’m interested in clinical and applied psychology — the slow, careful work of paying attention to people who are struggling.
I’m a third-year psychology student at the University of Alberta’s Augustana campus in Camrose, Alberta. I transferred to Augustana in 2025 after finishing an Associate of Arts at Douglas College in British Columbia, and I’m on track to graduate in May 2027.
The coursework that’s shaped me most so far: Psychological Disorders (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mood, anxiety, substance-use, and eating disorders); Personality Psychology (theories, assessments, disorders); and Research Methods in Psychology (ethics, APA code of conduct).
Outside of coursework I’ve volunteered in community mental-health settings and worked in client-facing support roles — early practice at listening carefully, de-escalating, and holding space while someone works through a difficult moment.
I’m applying for practicum and MA counselling roles for 2027. If you’re working on something adjacent — mental health, youth work, grad-school labs, applied psychology — I’d like to hear from you.

How the same diagnostic criteria can land very differently depending on someone’s context — and what a counsellor owes a client whose life sits outside the clinical norm.
